Casa de Flores

by Paula Berthelot on February 19, 2010

Even though the home is not large, it lives grand and has a presence from the street.  There are two bedrooms and an office/guest room, two baths, spacious living/dining area and wonderful kitchen.
The owner’s  love affair with Old and New Mexico is reflected the minute you step into the courtyard and then into the home.

As you enter through the main set of French doors, you will see 4 others that flank the portal for indoor/outdoor living during Santa Fe’s most desirable weather
Brick floors throughout the home and large beams and corbels give it an Old World feel.  The large living/dining room is banked at one end with a wall of bookshelves, not often found in Santa Fe homes.  The spacious living/dining room can generously accommodate a number of guests for gracious entertaining or an intimate dinner party. Antique doors cover the entertainment center and a secure display cabinet.

The master bedroom with kiva fireplace and French doors to the portal and the master bath with a spacious glass enclosed shower and large tub are located on the opposite side of the house from the guest room and office allowing total privacy.

If you like to entertain and cook, you will really enjoy spending time in the kitchen.   More like a kitchen found in a small hacienda, there is a minimum of built in cabinets. Instead the owner opted  for substantial wooden shelving anchored in plaster walls above tile counter tops with hand painted Mexican tile backsplash.  There are deep drawers below, and handsome furnishings for storage instead of the typical kitchen cabinets.  High-end appliances has served a  love of cooking.  Another set of French doors onto the portal allow for easy outdoor entertaining.
Townhome living in a country setting on approximately 2.5 acres allows for privacy with a minimal of upkeep.

Reduced price.  $668,000
